Happy Birthday Emily!
Emily is eighteen today! She is almost done with her summer term at BYU. I can't believe she is old enough to be there! I was 11 when she was born, so of course I was so excited to take care of her, babysit, and be her second mom. She has always been really special to me. When I was 16 and she was 5, we lived in Anaheim Hills, so I would take her to Disneyland just the two of us. She was only 6 when I went to BYU so I missed some of her growing up years, but I am so glad that we moved here to Pleasanton so that I could be around for her junior high and high school years. I got to watch her play lots of volleyball, see her with her dates for dances, and know her cute friends. Even though she is 11 years younger than me, she is one of my best friends. I am really going to miss her while she is away at BYU, but hopefully in a few years she can talk her husband into moving back here! Don't worry, I'm not rushing her, just talking in the future! Emily is so much fun to be around, and is so nice. I don't think she has a mean bone in her body. She has great fashion sense and I wish I could always look as cute as her! She is my favorite shopping partner. I hope you have a great birthday Em! Remind mom to give you your present from me! Love you!

Happy Birthday Emily!
What?????? You wish you could look as cute as Emily? I think you always look so dang cute!
Why dont you move to Utah? Then you could still have her for a shopping buddy and I will tag along and try to learn something from the masters of shopping!!!!!!
What a fun birthday tribute - that's what my girls will be (well almost) 12 years apart - so glad to see such bonding between sisters!!!
And don't listen to Linda, pleasantonian's jobs are to lure utahans back to the promised land of california!
That makes me so happy to see how close you two are...even being 11 years apart. I hope that all of our girls are able to be as close as you and your sister are. I'm with Linda...move to Utah to live closer to Emily...the the rest of us will benefit by having your cute family close by :)
I can't believe Emily is 18!!! She will always be the little naked girl running around the house, asking us to take her to Disneyland. Gosh, if she is 18, then that means we are getting old!
Maressa,
This comment has nothing to do with your post! Your post was wonderful but I wanted to tell you about a blog that I think you would like. It is called the pioneerwoman.com. Sara found it and reads it faithfully. It is a woman in Oklahoma that lives on a cattle ranch..I know you have so much in common! But you do, because she cooks! She has really fun recipes..some very fancy. and she has contests where she gives away things like kitchenaid mixers, home depot gift cards, etc. Anyway give it a look. and tell you mother to write on her blog, it is months old! I am trying to learn to blog too. You can read mine, but don't expect much! rodandgerryhavemanykids.blogspot.com
